Compression Therapy

The aim of a compression therapy with compression stockings is:

• Strengthening the veins
• Decrease the venous pressure
• Normalize the functioning of the vascular wall
• Improving the metabolism in the tissue

Compression stockings narrow the circumference of the veins in the legs. This supports the proper functioning of the vein valve system – blood no longer collects in the legs. Stretch marks, spider veins and the appearance of varicose veins are reduced or completely avoided.

The pressure applied in this way (from the feet to the top of the thighs) speeds up the flow of blood back to the heart thereby reducing the risk of blood clots and embolisms. The improved metabolism works against the formation of open leg wounds and in combination with the pressure from outside also reduces the amount of tissue fluid secreted and therefore hinders the formation of oedema.

There are four compression grades which can be used depending on the severity of the condition. For vein hherapy compression stockings of grades I to III are usually used. You should also check the large selection of up to 20 standard and trendy colours as well as the three Swarovski crystal motives.

The compressions grade IV are used for more serious medical conditions, for example for lymphatic therapy. For lymphoedema, so called flat-knit stockings are used.
