Sock- and Stocking Aids

Compression stockings are a relatively simple device to effectively treat venous conditions. But one has to bear in mind, that they are “high-tech” products which have to be treated with care. The stockings should be put on with rubber gloves. These stick to the fabric and thereby make it much easier to grip the stockings and put them on properly. Remember to take off your watch and jewellery before putting the stockings on so that the fabric cannot be damaged.

Avoid overstretching the fabric while putting the stocking on by not pulling it up strongly. If pulled up the stocking will react like an elastic and will not have the correct position on the leg. This leads to incorrect pressure distribution, slipping back of the stocking or folding up in the knee area. As a consequence constrictions in the hollow of the knee can occur.
